The Invisalign® Process

Posted .

If you have chosen Invisalign®, it is likely because you are hesitant about wearing metal brackets and wires to straighten your teeth. You would love to straighten your smile without marring the beauty of it in the process. As you are just beginning your Invisalign journey, or simply considering taking that first step, Dr. John Fleming and our team are happy to walk you through the Invisalign process.

First, you’ll come into our office for a consultation. Our orthodontist will perform an evaluation to determine whether Invisalign is the best choice for you. Then a scanner will be used to create 3D images of your teeth. These images will be used to map out your individualized treatment plan. This will include the exact movement of your teeth and your projected treatment time.

Your Invisalign aligners, which are virtually invisible, will be made and your first set will be issued to you. Wear your aligners for 20 to 22 hours a day, or as our orthodontist recommends. Your Invisalign aligners can be taken out when you eat and when you brush and floss.

Each set of Invisalign aligners will gradually and gently move your teeth to their correct positions. You will receive your next set of aligners about every week and checkups at Quality Orthodontic Care will be scheduled about every six weeks.

Once your Invisalign treatment is complete, we may recommend that you wear a retainer to hold the positions of your newly straightened teeth until they stabilize.

We invite you to contact our office at 770-901-2433 today to learn more about Invisalign in Alpharetta, Georgia, and to schedule a visit.
